Objectives of Pakistan Resolution is a sacred document :former president Rafique Tarar

12-03-2015_QRARDAD-I-MAQASID_NATIONLahore: The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Chairman Muhammad Rafique Tarar observed that the Objectives Resolution is a sacred document that offers the Muslims an opportunity to lead their individual and collective lives in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah and gives protection to the minorities and downtrodden and backward strata of society.

In his special message on the Objectives Resolution Day, the chairman said that Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust  interprets this important resolution the way that enables the common masses to know what course of action to adopt in order to transform Pakistan into a modern, Islamic, democratic and welfare state. The Quaid-i-Azam’s right-hand man Khan Liaquat Ali Khan had presented it in the legislative assembly where the majority consisted of the Quaid-i-Azam’s companions and colleagues. President General Zia-ul-Haq made it an un-detachable part of the constitution by adding article 2, subsection A to the 1973 constitution on March 2, 1985. Its purpose was to create a just economic system based on the tenets of Islam to achieve glory, prestige, peace and prosperity, the Pakistanis make a solemn pledge to eliminate poverty and backwardness.  Some secular elements alongside the fans of Hindu and Western culture foolishly criticize it.

Prof. Dr. Rafique Ahmad observed that the Objectives Resolution Day provides us with an opportunity to review our past performance regarding the achievement of the sublime aims and objective contained therein. It highlights the high principles such as democracy, freedom, equality, tolerance and social justice that guarantee honour, peace and prosperity of a nation speaking on the theme “The Objectives Resolution – Its Importance, and Aims and Objective” at a special sitting jointly organized by the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust  and Pakistan Movement Workers Trust at the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan. The sitting was addressed by the former law minister S.M. Zafar and Professor Dr. Parveen Khan, too. Chaudhry Naeem Hussain, Dr. M. A. Sufi, Mian Muhammad Ibrahim Tahir, Muhammad Yaseen Wattoo and a large number of students and people from different walks of life were also present on the occasion. The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Secretary Shahid Rasheed conducted the proceedings of the event.

Continuing his presidential address, Professor Dr. Rafique Ahmad observed that, on this day, all Pakistanis including the rulers and the ruled and all the institutions should make a sacred pledge of shed off all the negative qualities and absorb the positive ones, so that the country may march forward along the path of prestige, progress and prosperity. It is essential to provide the best possible education to every Pakistani child without any discrimination, he observed.

S.M. Zafar observed that this resolution strikes a beautiful balance between the Islamic mode of life and the requirements of the modern era. It highlights the virtues of democracy, freedom and equality. We should interpret it the way that leads to the social progress. He advised the students to conquer the forces of nature for the benefit of the nation by acquiring science and technology. The moment we grasped the true spirit of Islam and brought a positive change in ourselves we would surely regain our past glory.

Professor Dr. Parveen Khan observed that the Objectives Resolution is a fine minister of Islam and democracy. This resolution has provided the guide-lines that can transform Pakistan into a state envisioned by the Quaid-i-Azam.

The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust secretary Shahid Rasheed observed that the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust is an institution that is creating the ambition and aspiration in the Pakistani nation to march forward on the path of progress. It tries to convince people that unity and fraternity can do away with adverse circumstance. He reminded that the Quaid-i-Azam had gained Pakistan in the circumstance that were much worse than now. So, he advised, we must defeat the nefarious designs of the enemies of Pakistan by creating unity among us, instead of losing courage.
