Clean drinking water is basic right of every citizen:Malik Tanvir Aslam

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Housing, Communication & Works Malik Tanvir Aslam Awan has said that no pressure will be accepted for providing potable water to the citizens. He said that action will be taken against those having illegal water connections. He said that provision of clean drinking water is basic right of every citizen.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of senior officers with regard to water supply project of Jhelum. Malik Tanvir Aslam constituted a committee comprising four officers for getting hundred percent results from this project for providing potable water to 34 villages of Jhelum.

The committee will consider all aspects of the project and present its recommendations to the Minister within 10 days. Important steps will be taken in the light of the recommendations for ensuring equal distribution of water to the villages.

The Provincial Minister said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has issued instructions for providing potable water to the citizens uninterruptedly and it is responsibility of all concerned officers to implement it in letter and spirit.
