Pir Sibghatullah Rashidi calls on Siraj ul Haq, agreed for unanimous candidates to Senate slots

pic ji 9 marchLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan and Senator- elect, , Sirajul Haq, has appealed to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari to put forth unanimous candidates to the offices of Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman so as to create an atmosphere of reconciliation and to end the political crisis in the country.

A high level consultative meeting of the JI presided over by the JI chief held at Mansoora, was of the view that the election to the Senate Chairman and deputy Chairman should facilitate the resolution of the political crisis lingering on in the country. The JI chief also stressed upon the leadership of the major parties in the parliament to evolve consensus on the Judicial Commission so that the Tehrik e Insaf returned to the parliament.

The JI leaders attending the meeting included JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, JI deputy chiefs Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, JI Punjab chief Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar and others.

Pakistan Muslim League (functional) President, the Pir of Pagara, Pir Sibghatullah Rashidi, called on the Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Srajul Haq, at Mansoroa on Monday. He was accompanied by the central leaders of his party including Pir Sadrud Din Rashidi and Muhammad Ali Durrani.  The JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, JI deputy chief Hafiz Muhammad Idrees and JI Khyber P chief. Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, were also present.

Taking to the media after the call on-, Sirajul Haq expressed his gratitude to the Pir of Pagara for visiting Mansoroa. He said that he had called on the Pir of Pagara after his election as JIP chief and had invited the Pir Sahib to Mansoora.

Sirajul Haq said that the JI and the PML(Functional) had common viewpoint in important political  issues and both wanted the supremacy of the constitution, the rule of law, and a strong federation.

He said that that the law and order in Sindh was deplorable and the life of the people was not secure. He said that unless and until there was rule of law, the country could not develop. He said that the Pir of Pagara had agreed to the JI agenda for building an Islamic and prosperous Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, the Pir of Pagara said that his late father had close relations with the JI leadership and he was in Mansoora to strengthen the ties.

He said that unfortunately, most of the political leaders talked of their own parties but nobody talked of strengthening the federation. Some politicians had formed their own groups within their parties, he added.  He said it was high time that the politicians rose above party considerations and seriously thought of pulling the country out of the present crisis and solving the people’s problems. He

said all the state institutions in Sindh had been ruined and none could function independently. If the situation was not brought under control, the country could be facing a storm.

The Pir of Pagara suggested that the PPP and the PML(N) should elect the offices of the Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman through mutual understanding.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Jamaat e Islami, Balochistan, presently in the Punjab capital, has appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to fulfill his commitment for establishing a hospital for heart patients in Quetta made during a visit to the city six years ago.

The delegation including Abdul Qayyum Kakar and Maulvi Abdul Mannan, during a meeting with the Ameer, JI, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, at Mansoora, said that Mian Shahbaz Sharif had promised to gift a cardiology hospital to the people of Balochistan but that was still awaited. He said that there was no cardiology hospital in Quetta and the heart patients had to travel all the way to Karachi and Lahore for proper treatment which was highly expensive as well as most inconvenient and many patients died on their way.
