Lahore: Special task force constituted for checking of spurious and sub-standard medicines conducted raid at medicine market Chiniot Bazar, Faisalabad and recovered spurious and sub-standard medicines worth lakhs of rupees. Three accused were arrested on the spot whereas five medical stores were immediately sealed and cases have been registered against the accused in concerned police stations.
According to details, Parliamentary Secretary Health/Chairman Task Force Kh. Imran Nazir along with a team of Health Department from Lahore conducted surprise raid at medicine market Chiniot Bazar at Faisalabad where fake life saving drugs and other medicines were being sold, upon which, legal action was taken. Abdul Haseeb, Shaheen and Zulfiqar were arrested. Talking to media on the occasion, Kh. Imran Nazir said that on the special direction of Chief Minister Punjab, action has been taken on war footing for checking sale of fake, sub-standard, unregistered and expired medicines. He said that Punjab government will make legislation for awarding deterrent punishment to those involved in this heinous trade.
