Rana Mashud inaugurates Annual Convention and Building Material Exhibition

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Education, Sports & Youth Affairs Punjab Rana Mashud Ahmad Khan has said that peaceful atmosphere is essential for promotion of industry for providing jobs to youth and prosperity of the country.

He said this while addressing the inaugural session of Annual Convention and Building Material Exhibition (IAPex-2015) held under the aegis of Institute of Architect Pakistan at a local hotel, here today.

He said that some elements have distorted the image of the country by shedding blood in the name of religion, that is why, people are reluctant to invest in Pakistan. He said that government has taken right decision that there is no room in Pakistan for those committing terrorism in the name of religion. He said that the government will deal such elements with an iron hand. Therefore, people should supplement the efforts of the government for giving this vision a practical shape, he added.

The Education Minister said that industry could not grow due to energy crises in the country and people are facing unemployment. He said that Pakistan had surplus electricity in 1999 and India wanted to purchase this extra electricity but due to not setting up new power plants, we are facing shortfall of 9000 megawatt electricity and new power plants of billions of rupees will have to be established for meeting this requirement.

Rana Mashud said this is a good omen that due to the credibility of present government, 17 developed countries are making investment in Pakistan. He said that PML(N) federal government led by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has launched projects of 14000 megawatt electricity and their cash cover is also with the government. He said that in 2015, there will be half load-shedding in rural and urban areas as compared to previous year. He said that people are facing problems as we are providing more electricity to our industry for controlling unemployment.

Education Minister said that four thousand out of 54 thousand public schools situated away from electricity transmission lines, are deprived of electricity. He said that government has decided to install solar energy panels in these four thousand schools. He said that government is determined to promote energy efficient housing and qualified architects will be appointed against vacant posts in Provincial Housing Department for this purpose.

Rana Mashud assured the participants of the convention on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif that Punjab government will allocate a suitable piece of land for setting up offices of Institute of Architects Pakistan.

Chairman Institute of Architect Pakistan Lahore Chapter Ahmed Pervaiz Mirza, Convener of Convention Saad Mehmood Khan and Chief Executive of Master Healthcare Products gave briefings about the health importance of Molty Ortho Plus Mattress and services of Institute of Architects Pakistan. Rana Mashhood also inspected the installs of Polyvenyle Chloride (PVC) wall panels and insulation materials.
