Lahore: The preparations of upcoming National Horse & Cattle Show has come to an end after final rehearsal held at National Hockey Stadium and Punjab Stadium. Hundreds of artists, performers, students and players took part in the rehearsal proceedings.
The grand show will be organised with the association of Sports Board Punjab (SBP) from March 5 to 8, 2015 at Fortress Stadium, Lahore. The sports competitions of the event will be staged at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall, National Hockey Stadium and Punjab Football Stadium and Gaddafi Stadium.
DG SBP witnessed the whole rehearsal activity that includes gymnastic and aerobic performances, national songs, cultural show and regional dances at both the venues. He issued necessary instructions to heads of different groups to make their performance flawless for the grand event.
Talking to media on this occasion, DG SBP Usman Anwar expressed his satisfaction on the rehearsal and preparations of National Horse & Cattle Show. “The forthcoming mammoth activity will be a great demonstration of Pakistan’s regional talent,” he added.
He said that the sports competitions will provide an additional entertainment during the great cultural event. “It will be a golden opportunity for athletes from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad and Azad Kashmir to show their true talent in various games,” he further said.
Meanwhile addressing the prize distribution ceremony of 46th Annual Inter-Unit Athletics Championship of Pakistan Wapda at Punjab Stadium here on Saturday, Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar said that the energetic sports activities always played a major role in the growth of a healthy society and that’s why Sports Board Punjab was utilizing its resources for the promotion of sports among the youth of the country.
He said that Pakistan Wapda has also played a notable role for the sports in the country. He said that Sports Board Punjab has been providing every kind of facilities to potential youngsters of the country to demonstrate their talent at international platform. “The dozens of Guinness Records and other record breaking performances in a short span of time are big verification that SBP is guiding the youth of the country in the right direction,” he added.
DG SBP informed that Sports Board Punjab will host scores of sports events in the coming months including Punjab Youth Festival and International Sports Festival. “Apart from holding mega sports events, SBP will also extend sufficient assistance for the holding of National Horse and Cattle Show,” Usman Anwar told.
Later, the DG SBP distributed prizes among the prominent athletes. General Manager Wapda Sports Muhammad Zafar, Secretary Sports Board Wapda M Razzaq Gill and Finance Secretary Haroon Masood were also present on this occasion.
