Lahore: Deputy chief of the Jamaat e Islami, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, has the federal government was trying to bury the case of the burning to death of nearly three hundred workers in the Baldia Town factory tragedy and the formation of a fresh JIT was meant to realize this goal.
In a statement, he said that the JIT report had been compiled after thorough investigation spread over almost three years, and throwing it into the wastepaper basket would be tantamount to patronizing terrorists. Such a step would be negating the rulers’ tall claims of uprooting terrorism, he added.
The JI deputy chief said that Allah Almighty had blessed Pakistan with unlimited resources. But unfortunately, the beggarly rules, devoid of religious dignity, were securing loans from the IMF and the World Bank. The IMF and WB loans, he said, were a trap of the infidels to corner the Islamic states and the Pakistani rulers were going deep into it while the country’s economy was being destroyed. Loans of billions of dollars only added the burden of taxes on the general public and led to price hike. The rulers could have saved the country from this situation by adopting the policy of self reliance and utilizing the manpower, especially the youth talent, he added.
Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said that Pakistan was an ideological state but efforts were being made to destroy its ideological character. The constitution declared the sovereignty of Allah Almighty, but practically all government policies and steps negated this.
He said that terrorism could not be uprooted through hollow slogans as practical measures were required for that purpose but the rulers were reluctant to do that.
He said that the voice of Islam could not be stifled by harassing the Ulema. He said that the rulers were doing no service to Islam by removing the loud speakers of mosques and giving full freedom to dances and music clubs.
