A delegation of Chinese investors calls on CM Punjab

CM PUNJAB 2Lahore: A delegation of Chinese investors associated with energy sector met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today. Prospects of investment in energy sector in Punjab were discussed during the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that there is a great scope of investment in energy sector. He said that facilities are being provided on priority basis for investment in energy sector.

The Chief Minister said that energy projects are being executed speedily in the province. He said that the programme of generation of energy through coal, hydle, solar and other sources in Punjab is being forwarded. There are vast opportunities of generating energy through solar in Punjab, he added. He said that Punjab government has completed solar project of 100 megawatt at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park, Bahawalpur from its own resources.

Shahbaz Sharif said that planning has also been made for further generating 900 megawatt electricity from solar. He said that planning has been made for setting up of power stations for generating 1000 megawatt electricity through LNG. He said that like other development projects, energy projects are also being completed transparently and speedily.

Additional Chief Secretary Energy, Chairman PPDCL, Chief Executive Officer Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park and concerned officials were present on the occasion.
