Lahore: Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal has said that the nation is fully committed to fight terrorism and nefarious designs of terrorists will be foiled.
He stated this during his visit to Ganga Ram Hospital to inquire after the persons injured in bomb blast outside Police Lines Lahore. Soon after getting the information about the blast, the Chief Secretary reached Ganga Ram Hospital to inquire after the injured.
The Chief Secretary said that the injured persons are being provided best medical treatment in hospitals. The Chief Secretary said that the attackers could not hit the target due to better security arrangements. He said: “we equally share the grief and sorrow of the families of the persons who were martyred in the bomb blast”.
Later, the Chief Secretary ordered beefing up security in the province during a meeting of Cabinet Committee for Law and Order held on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab. The security situation after Lahore attack was discussed in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Home Minister Col. Retd. Shuja Khanzada, Secretary Home, IG Police, Additional IG Special Branch, Additional IG CTD besides other concerned authorities.
