Extremism is found in all departments of life:Mossarat Qadeem

Lahore: Former provincial caretaker minister and executive director paiman alumnai trust , Mossarat Qadeem said that extremism is found in all departments of life. “We cannot tolerate and accept each other”, she said. She expressed these views while addressing to session tile “Orientation Session with
Media”. Session was organized by Paiman alumnai trust  a non government organization (NGO).

Educationalist Bushra Haider, Muhammad Shakoor training officer, Kamran Malak and others also
addressed the session. Large number of journalists of Mardan, Charsadda, Peshwar, Swat and Khyber agency attended the session.

Mussarat Qadeem who is also Execute director of Paiman said that we are going in critical situation of the history and we have nothing in hand in the current time. “We have ignored our cultural values and
there is no strategy, no vision and no plan in the current time to encounter extremism”, she added. She added that it is need of time that we should made comprehensive strategy to encounter extremism.
“The root causes of extremism are many and as a nation we have never tried to address any of them”, she added. She added that the foremost among them is education and here it should be evident to all of us
that we have never tried to address the issue of extremism in our school curriculum.

Musarrat Qadeem said that there are ways, and one of these is to include ‘peace education. “We need to analyze our
educational curriculum from a different angle because one of the reasons how extremism comes into our schools is not necessarily via the curriculum, but through the attitude and behavior of our teachers”, she added. Musarrat Qadeem said that we will also start a program through which we arranged different orientation session in school with teachers. She added that it is need of time that we should create awareness among the masses about extremism and it is also duty of media that they should play their role in this connection.

Mussart Qadeem added that media can aware the masses if media play their role.
Addressing to the session Bushra Haider and Muhammad Shakoor said that Paiman is playing its role in this connection and they have arranged several orientation session with students of universities, madrasas, businessmen, those people who directly or indirectly hit by militancy and other people. They added that in this connection they trained thousands of people. They added that they have also constituted Tolana in five districts of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and Khyber agency.

They added that they trained the members of the Tolana about the early warning and early response systems. They added that through this system if a member of Tolana saw any unusual work or see a stranger they must inform the district institution and institution will take actions in this connection. They added that due to the Tolana several bid of terror were failed in Swabi and Charssadda district.

They added that members of the Tolana also created awareness among the masses about extremism. They added that after 11 years struggle we have succeeded to organize Tolana system in all the five districts and Khyber agency.

They added that Paiman has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police. They added that through this MoU Paiman will arrange training session for police officers and cops.

They added through this MoU link will be created among members of Tolana and police on district level. “It is need of time that every person of the society should play their role to encounter extremism”,they added.
