Lahore: PTI Punjab president Ijaz Chaudhary has expressed his deep dissatisfaction over the safety measures taken in Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Project construction site, after the deaths of two laborers who were buried alive yesterday after a mound of earth collapsed on them.

PTI Punjab Secretary General Yasmin Rashid said the contractors and CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif share a joint responsibility in safeguarding the life of workers at construction sites by implementing safety procedures. She said both are responsible for the death of two poor laborers and need to be punished following an immediate inquiry.
Information secretary Andleeb Abbas said if the Government will appoint someone like Hanif Abbasi who was indicted and involved in a Ephedrine mega corruption scandal and is made head of a multi billion Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Project, then who will care for safety standards.
She said Punjab Government is wasting its resources on these few showcase model projects just to fool the nation. She said Islamabad, which is the best-planned city in South Asia, has fallen to the greed of the ruling elites.
