Lahore: German consultant and a delegation of Chinese company Metallurgical Corporation of China working on the project of mineral resources in Chiniot-Rajwa called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today.
Speedy progress on the project of mineral resources in Chiniot-Rajwa was agreed in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that discovery of iron ore, copper and gold reserves in Chiniot-Rajwa is a very happy news for 18 crore people of the country. He said that the mineral reserves discovered in Chiniot-Rajwa are more precious than oil and gas and this great project will change the destiny of the country.
The Chief Minister said that the mineral resources in Chiniot-Rajwa are property of 18 crore people of Pakistan. He said that Punjab government has launched this project from its own resources and only in a short period of nine months, an important progress has been made on the project. He said that we have to march forward expeditiously with regard to this project. He said that the interest shown by Chinese company in setting up a steel mill in Chiniot-Rajwa is a good omen.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the project of setting up of a steel mill through indigenous iron will provide jobs to local people and the economy will flourish. He said that the project of mineral resources in Chiniot-Rajwa is of great importance. He said that this project has revolutionary importance for the economy of the country particularly Punjab and after its completion, national economy will strengthen. He expressed the hope that these hidden reserves will prove a guarantee to the development of the country and the nation.
The Chief Minister said that there are vast mineral reserves in Chiniot-Rajwa and the destiny of the nation and the country will be changed by utilizing these reserves. He said that the international laboratories have certified the high quality of mineral reserves in Chiniot-Rajwa which is great news for Pakistani nation.
He vowed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan will be made a developed and prosperous country by utilizing these hidden reserves and will achieve a dignified status in the international community. He said that Punjab government started this project from its own resources and the contract was awarded to the renowned Chinese company Metallurgical Corporation of China through a tendering process in a very transparent manner and the hard work borne fruit within a record period of ten months and precious reserves have been certified.
Shahbaz Sharif said that according to the experts, these mineral reserves are of billions or trillions dollar which is a great gift for Pakistani nation by Almighty Allah. He said that this project will prove to be a game changer as during the exploration of iron ore, copper and gold have also been discovered from here. He said that the hidden reserves of Chiniot-Rajwa are a harbinger of a revolution of prosperity and our round the clock hard work has borne fruit.
The Chief Minister appreciated the performance of Provincial Minister for Minerals Sher Ali Khan, Chairman Punjab Mineral Development Company Dr. Samar Mubarik Mand and Secretary Minerals Dr. Arshad who have worked day and night due to which the entire nation has received such a big news. He also appreciated the performance of German consultant and Chinese company working on the project. Members of the Chinese delegation speaking on the occasion said that under the dynamic leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, successes are being achieved in mineral resources project. They said that efforts will be made to complete the feasibility report at the earliest.
Provincial Minister for Minerals Sher Ali Khan, Chairman Punjab Minerals Development Company Dr. Samar Mubarik Mand, Secretary Minerals Dr. Arshad, Chief Economist Metallurgical Corporation of China Zhang Mengxing, Chairman MCC Mining Limited Zou Jianhui and besides other officials, German consultant Dr.Jurgen Hartsh were also present on the occasion.
