A number of officers keep dreaming during an important meeting chaired by IGP Mushtaq Sukhera

Lahore: In order to enhance the capacity building, as well as ensuring the efficient public service delivery, effective administration, collaborative decision making, empowerment and accountability, performance evaluation of officers and formulation of policies, the restructuring of CPO has been finalized with the approval of the IGP.A number of officers were seen as sleeping during the meeting that was much embarrassing for the department except the officers who were sleeping.They were caught by the official camera but none bother to awake them nor they were warned for this grave misconduct.

This strategy was finalized today by Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera who presided over a meeting held in this connection at CPO Lahore, today Addl: IGP, Welfare & Finance, Sohail Khan, Addl: IGP, R&D Rai Altaf Hussain, Addl: IGP, Training Capt. ® Muhammad Usman Khattak, Addl: IGP, PHP Javed Islam, Addl: IGP, Investigation, Punjab, Tariq Masood Yasin, DIG Muhammad Tahir, DIG R&D Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, DIG PHP Salman Ch, DIG Muhammad Azeem Leghari, DIG Establishment Nawaz Warraich, DIG Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG Ghulam Rasool Zahid, and other senior Police Officers of CPO attended the meeting.

Under the restructuring of CPO, nomenclature of 6 important posts have been changed. New nomenclature of Addl: Inspector General of Police Punjab will be the Addl: Inspector General of Police, Establishment, Addl: Inspector General of Police, R&D will be Addl: Inspector General of Police, Operations, DIG Discipline and Internal Investigation will be DIG Establishment-I, DIG Establishment will be DIG Establishment-II, AIG Career and Planning will be AIG Complaints and Deputy Director R&D will be AIG Legislative Business, CPO Punjab.

While directing all sectional heads during the meeting IGP said that after the restructuring the relevant officers and staff have already been attached and the sole purpose of this decision is to promote the coordinated working at CPO. Moreover, this decision would also enable the CPO for permanent monitoring of official proceedings, handling of pendency of all cases, expedition of investigation process and supervision of expeditious disposal of business.

The provincial police chief directed the CPO officers to replace all the clerical staff with the honest and professional ones. Similarly, IGP was briefed that under his instructions the process of changing the officials of Accountant Branch of CPO was underway.

Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera directed the Addl: IGP Training to include the four courses in training i.e. Investigation, Anti-Roits, Security and Moharrorship in all training schools and colleges.

IGP also instructed the officers to expedite the completion process of ACRs of DSPs across the Punjab. He directed that the field officer will be held responsible in case of giving good ACRs to those DSPs who are indulged in criminal activities, involved in corruption cases have officially been declared as guilty in various cases.

The PPO further directed the Addl: IGP Welfare to issue the SOP about the welfare funds to all field officers and directed them to ensure that these funds must be spent on constabulary’s welfare.

IGP said that all officers / officials are allowed to meet him directly in case of any problem and for this purpose no hindrance would be accepted.

During the meeting DIG IT was instructed to complete the data of all POs with the help of NADRA and PITB.

To improve the investigation process, it was decided that in all the districts where model police stations were not established minimum 02 cells, one conditioning room and one investigation room must be established, like CTD.

The progress of the purchase of new APCs, Water Canon and Helicopter for the police department was also looked into the meeting.
