Punjab police has arrested 1133 illegal afghan refugees: IGP Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera

Lahore: Police hold against illegal residents under Foreign Act has been tightened in the province as per instructions of the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera. Punjab Police is constantly in contact with all law enforcing agencies for intelligence sharing and is successfully raiding illegal safe houses on receiving the authentic information from the agencies.

During the raids, Punjab police has arrested 1133 illegal afghan refugees so far. Lahore police has arrested 84, Sheikhupura 7, Gujranwala 457, Rawalpindi 88, Sargodha 99, Faisalabad 89, Multan 82, Sahiwal 31, D.G Khan 61 and Bahawalpur Police arrested 135 illegal afghan refugees. Moreover, cases have also been registered against 504 afghan refugees under Foreign Act, whereas, 887 refugees have been sent to Jail after Judicial proceedings.
