Criminals involved in Baldia Town Tragedy must be brought to justice:PTI

Lahore: PTI Punjab president Ijaz Chaudhary said the revelations made by terror suspect from a political party in Baldia Town factory inferno case are shocking. He said the report prepared by a joint investigation team says the garments factory was set on fire by members of a political party on refusal to pay 200 million as extortion money by the factory owners.

He said it is tragic that 289 people were burned alive for not getting 200 million extortion. He said this incident is equal to political terrorism.

Secretary General Yasmin Rashid said the JIT report have disclosed the bitter realities behind this so-called “accident”. She said it is now clear that it was a planned attack not an accident. She said all political parties regardless of whether in power or not involved in this terrible incident should be accountable for their inhuman actions.

Information secretary Andleeb Abbas said Government should bring concrete evidence that cannot be refuted by the court so that criminals involved must be brought to justice.

She said PTI has always demanded that the militant wings of parties should be as ruthlessly abolished, as terrorist hangouts and Chairman Imran Khan in the APC had wanted special action on it.

She said Government should not bungle and suppress this case as public needs to know that this case will be made exemplary for all those who feel they are above law, if Government wants to keep things in order in Karachi. She said 289 human souls became victim of extortion greed. Andleeb Abbas demanded that the case must be tried by military court. She demanded that a similar honest and bold JIT report should be made in model town and Faisalabad cases as if we cannot control our political parties from terrorism how can we control terrorists coming from outside.
