Malik Nadeem Kamran distributes cheques among MS of four hospitals of tehsil level

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Zakat & Usher Malik Nadeem Kamran has said that treatment and provision of free medical facilities to destitute patients and imparting of skills to the deserving boy and girl students for enabling them to stand on their own feet is priority of the government and all out relief is being provided to them under a comprehensive strategy.Minister Zakat

He was addressing ceremony to give cheques of relief amount to the MSs of hospitals and principals of Vocational Training Institutes at the Head Office of Punjab Vocational Training Council at Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate. Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Zakia Shahnawaz, Saba Sadiq, Parliamentary Secretary Rana Muhammad Arshad, Secretary Zakat & Usher Habib ur Rehman Gillani, Administrator Zakat Punjab Muhammad Yousaf Butt, Chairman PVTC Faisal Ijaz Khan, Medical Superintendents of hospitals and principals of training centers were present on the occasion.

Malik Nadeem Kamran distributed cheques for Rs.6.68 crore among medical superintendents of four hospitals of tehsil level, 9 of district level and 19 of provincial level of Lahore division for providing free medicines and treatment facilities to the deserving patients whereas cheques for Rs.8.24 crore were also given to 22 vocational training institutes of Lahore division.

Addressing the function, Malik Nadeem Kamran said that the basic aim to calling principals of training centers and medical superintendents of hospitals in the ceremony is to give briefing personally and inform them about the problems of deserving persons. He said that surprise visits should be paid to those hospitals which are provided financial assistance to check whether the teams deputed for the help of deserving persons in the hospitals are performing their duties properly.  He further said that the deserving patients should be given due respect during treatment so that their self-respect should not be hurt.

The Provincial Minister said that Punjab government is launching a scheme of rehabilitating deserving persons on permanent basis so that they could start their own small business. He said that an awareness programme has been started including publication of zakat brochure, publicity campaign in newspapers, establishment of website, holding of functions, face book, tv programmes and release of annual report. He further said that funds have been releasing to 39 hospitals of provincial level from provincial zakat fund but this year, 5 new hospitals are being added which included Ghurki Trust Hospital, Naureen Nishat Welfare Hospital, Mughal Eye Hospital, Layton Rehmat Eye Hospital and Post Kidney Transplant Centre of Sheikh Zayed Hospital Lahore
