Lahore: Punjab police will extend its full cooperation to Child Protection Bureau (CPB) in elimination of all those criminals who used the children to fulfill their illegal designs.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera during a briefing arranged by Chairperson Child Protection Bureau, Saba Sadiq at Central Police Office, Lahore. AIG Operations, Capt. (R), Romail Akram and PSO to IGP, Tariq Rustam Chauhan also attended the briefing.
IGP Punjab told that a contingent of 20 constables headed by a senior police officer has been attached with CPB who can take action against these criminals at their major hubs of big cities or any where across Punjab with the collaboration of CPB.
Moreover, the officials of traffic police specially traffic wardens in Lahore will also help the CPB to discourage the begging by these children at all roads, streets and roundabouts.
It was also decided in the briefing that the experts of CPB will deliver awareness lectures at all police training schools and colleges.
Provincial Police Chief appointed AIG Operations, Romail Akram as focal person for maintaining constant liaison with the Child Protection Bureau.
