Lahore: Chairman Senate Defence Committee Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed has welcomed the appointment of Dr. Maleeha Lodhi as Permanent Representative to United Nations (UN) and said that it is appreciable that talented and experienced professionals from outside the Foreign Service are inducted to serve and protect the interests of Pakistan on international level. He expressed these views while having a meeting with the newly-appointed Dr. Maleeha Lodhi, here at Parliament House, on Tuesday.
Dr. Maleeha Lodhi, while exchanging views, called it a matter of great honour to be given this responsibility and apprised him about his upcoming missions at UN. She said that her agenda is large but her prime focus will be creating a clear line on Kashmir cause. She told the Senator that 70th anniversary of UN and post 2015 development goals will be the main agendas in this year for UN.
Dr. Maleeha Lodhi and Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed who had also been working together during their journalistic career in renowned Daily ‘Muslim’ and during the meeting, they also recalled some valuable memories.
