Lahore: Secretary Health Punjab Jawad Rafique Malik has said that government will provide resources for the up-gradation and improving performance of Govt. Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital.
He said this while inaugurating four dialysis machines donated by Gohar Ijaz at Govt. Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital today. Commissioner Lahore Abdullah Khan Sumbal, Malik Pervaiz MNA, CH. Shahbaz Ahmad MPA, DCO Lahore Cap(R) Muhammad Usman, APTMA leader Gohar Ijaz, MS Dr. Ghulam Sabir and other officers were present on the occasion.
Malik Pervaiz MNA told Secretary Health that south Lahore is area of poor people and Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital is playing an important role for catering health needs of the people. He said that all treatment facilities are being provided free of cost in the hospital. However, due to increase in the population, there is a need of expansion in the hospital, he added.
Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Ghulam Sabir told that more than 10 lakh patients were provided treatment facilities in the hospital during last one year. He told that 12 machines are already installed in dialysis unit of the hospital and dialysis of 48 patients is carried out in three shifts daily up to 10:00pm in the unit. He said that the number of dialysis machines has increased to 16 with the donation of four machines by Gohar Ejaz Trust and the dialysis facility will be available to more kidney patients.
Secretary Health thanked Gohar Ijaz for donation of dialysis machines and said that serving ailing humanity is a kind of worship and the philanthropists are earning the blessings of Allah Almighty in the world and the world hereafter. Jawad Rafique Malik said that government will take more steps for the up-gradation of Govt. Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital and is providing facility of dialysis in all teaching, District and Tehsil Headquarters Hospitals with annual cost of Rs.60 crore.
