Lahore High Court Multan Bench sentenced 3 accused to death

LHC Multan BenchLahore High Court Multan Bench rejected the appeal of Muhammad Shafi, a murderer of 4 Police officials, and has upheld the decision of Anti Terrorism Court Multan (I) which had awarded the accused 5 times death sentence, 10 years rigorous imprisonment and 20 lac 50 thousand fine on 22 September 2012. The accused was arrested from Dunya-pur district Lodhran after he murdered 4 on duty police officials by firing on August 12, 2007.

The deceased police officials include Sub-Inspector Ameer Hamza, Constables Dost Muhammad, Zia Ullah and Muhammad Ibrahim. According to the Spokesperson of Prosecution Department the same bench comprising of Mr. Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin and Mr. Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq rejected another appeal of accused Muhammad Sharif who murdered 4 brothers, Allah Ditta, Mazhar, Zafar and Azhar in a dispute on November 4, 2005. The Bench has upheld the orders of Multan Anti-Terrorism Court (II) for 5 times death sentence and 8 Lack fine in 7ATA and PPC 302. ATC Multan II had convicted the accused on May 30, 2007 and the accused challenged the decision in LHC.

The Same bench of Lahore High Court Multan Bench has upheld another verdict of ATC Multan II today. The court has rejected the appeal of Tasaduq Hussain, murderer of a 4 years old boy Talha whom he abducted for ransom and killed afterwards. Ameer Muhammad Khan, judge of ATC Multan II, had awarded death sentence on 3 counts and 8 Lac fine to accused Tasaduq Hussain on May 15, 2009. Deputy Prosecutor Generals Malik Riaz and Abdul Wadood represented the state in the case.
