PAT announces party elections schedule

Lahore: After the approval of the chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr. Tahirul Qadri the election process within the PAT has started. During the process office bearers for Minajul Quran Ulema Council, Women League, Youth Wing and MSM will be elected from all over the country.

Over 500 Tehsil and Union Councils have sent nominations and the scrutiny process is underway. The PAT election process will be completed by the 22^nd of February. Central and provincial office bearers will be elected. For this polling booths will be set up at district and divisional level and arrangements for this has been completed. The secret balloting will be held for these elections so as to make them fair and transparent. According to another report the spokesman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek has stated that the PAT popularity has risen after the sit-in before the parliament in Islamabad and people from Pakistan and abroad have enrolled themselves in large numbers as members and the PAT membership drive is continuing in all the districts of the country.

The spokesman said that after the sit-in the PAT chairman Dr. Tahir-Ul-Qadri address three conventions in three different cities of the United States. He said even today PAT is the largest party among the overseas Pakistanis and it has completed its membership drive in over 30 countries of the world including US, UK and Europe.The spokesman said that the PAT chief addressed rallies in Faisalabad, Lahore, Abbotabad and Bhakkar and millions of people attended these rallies and expressed unflinching faith in the leadership of Dr. Tahirul Qadri.

He said that the momentum has temporarily been suspended due to the illness of the PAT chief. He brushed aside the rumors that the moral of the PAT workers was not that as it was before. He said that the enrolment in the Minajul Quran educational institutes has risen manifold. He said that over 1 lakh and 26 thousand students are now studying in the Minajul Quran schools, colleges and universities, both male and female. He said this proves the faith and confidence of the parents in the Minajul Quran institutes.The spokesman said that the government martyred innocent PAT workers including students in the Model Town incident.

The firing by the government was an effort of the Punjab government to somehow shut down the Minajul Quran educational institutes. But, he said, the Punjab government has miserably failed in this task.The spokesman said that the political reorganization of PAT is underway in a befitting manner. He said PAT is the only political party which held demonstration against terrorism in over 60 cities of the country after the Peshawar incident.  The demonstrations were attended by millions of peoples.

In the same manner PAT held demonstrations and will continues to hold such rallies against the blasphemous caricatures printed in a French journal.He said that PAT is the only party which has highlighted the corruption of the government and this process will continue in the future.
