LHC Multan Bench upholds the orders of ATC for 27 times death sentence

Sardar Zulfiqar Khan Khosa,Dost Muhammad KhosaLahore: Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin and Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq of Lahore High Court Multan Bench while announcing decision on the appeal of Sadiq Gabol and Muhammad Hanif Gabol, accused in DG Khan Suicide Blast case, has upheld the orders of Anti-Terrorism Court for 27 times death sentence and 97 times 10, 10 years imprisonment. Anti-Terrorist Court of DG Khan had awarded 27 times death sentence & 97 times 10, 10 years imprisonment to both accused in September, 2014.

According to details, on December 15, 2009, a suicide attacker struck a truck full of explosives with the gate of Sardar Zulfiqar Khan Khosa’s house in DG Khan. 27 persons died while 97 had injured in the blast. A JIT constituted after that attack arrested the master mind Sadiq Gabol and main accused Muhammad Haneef Gabol. Sajjad Hussain Sindharl, Judge of Anti-Terrorism Court of DG Khan had awarded 27 times death sentence and 97 times 10, 10 years imprisonment to both accused in September, 2014. Both the accused filed an appeal in Lahore High Court against the decision of Anti-Terrorism Court, upon which, Lahore High Court Multan Bench upheld the decision of Anti-Terrorism Court. District Public Prosecutors Malik Riaz, Muhammad Jafar and Abdul Wadood represented the state in the case. Prosecution department presented 152 witnesses in the court during the trial.
