Lahore: Justice Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi and Justice Arshad Mehmood Tabasum of Lahore High Court Bahawalpur Bench has dismissed the appeal of terrorist Azhar Shah and upheld the punishment. Earlier, Judge Anti-Terrorist Court Bahawalpur Khalid Mehmood Ranjha had awarded seven years imprisonment and confiscation of all movable and immovable property of Azhar Shah for keeping explosive material on April 25, 2013. The culprit Azhar Shah had challenged decision of Anti-Terrorist Court in Lahore High Court upon which the court has dismissed his appeal.
According to the details, on April 24, 2011, police received information regarding presence of a suspicious person at Model Town Bahawalpur. Police conducted a raid and arrested terrorist Azhar Shah along with two hand grenades. The case against Azhar Shah was pursued in Anti-Terrorist Court and the court awarded punishment on 25 April 2013. The accused filed an appeal in Lahore High Court against the verdict of Anti Terrorist Court. Lahore High Court upheld the punishment of Azhar Shah today.
