Lahore: A high-level delegation of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen called on Pakistan Muslim League (PML) president and former Prime Minister Senator Ch Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi at their residence in Islamabad today.
During the meeting detailed discussion was held regarding next general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan and to form new electoral alliance in a very pleasant atmosphere.
Majlis delegation included chief of Political Wing Syed Nasir Abbas Sheerazi and Core Committee members Asad Abbas Naqvi and Muhammad Ali.
Ch Shujat Hussain said that parties having similar thinking about the problems of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and for progress and development of this area will have to launch joint struggle and as such other parties will also be contacted in this regard.
Leaders of both the parties rejected the present Election Commission and caretaker Cabinet of Gilgit-Baltistan and terming it as beginning of pre-poll rigging said that this will not be accepted at all. They also deliberated over launching of mass movement against it.
During the meeting PML Senior Vice-President Muhammad Basharat Raja, Provincial Chief Mirza Hussain and Vice-President Women Wing Amna Ansari were also present.
