JI asks Nisar to name madrissas involved in terrorism

pic 10 janLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said, it was the duty of the Federal Interior Minister to inform the nation about the ten percent Madrissahs that were allegedly involved in terrorism.

Talking to the media at Mansoora in the course of the meeting of the JI Central Shoora, he said that under the pressure of the colonial powers, the rulers were talking of squeezing religion and the government was preparing an FIR against the families of three million students studying at the madrissahs. He counseled the government to take effective steps to achieve national consensus on the controversial issues and review the 21st amendment. “I do not see any reason why the government should have brought in religion in the war against terrorism”, he added.

The JI chief noted that India was carrying out subversive activities in different parts of Pakistan including Balochistan and India’s National Security Adviser had himself admitted that to the media. He further said that the clamping of the Governor Rule in Kashmir had proved all apprehensions about the Narindera Modi’s government as correct. However, he said, that Modi should realize that such measures and denying the Kashmiris their right to self determination could not restore normalcy in Kashmir.

Continuing, Sirajul Haq said that after the Peshawar massacre, the government should have taken a firm stand against terrorism. He said unfortunately, after three APC’s, the government resolve in this direction had been softened and reduced into a mere legislation while hard steps required for achieving the goal were nowhere to be seen. The 21st amendment had shaken the national unity and harmony against terrorism, he said.

The JI chief said the JI Shoora had decided to observe the year 2015 as the year of peace. He said he had floated the idea months before and if the government had made such an announcement, this would have given the nation much hope and courage.

He said the JI had also decided to start a movement at the national level for making Pakistan an Islamic and prosperous country. The JI would unite the poor and oppressed masses against the prevailing system based on injustice and exploitation, he said.

Sirajul Haq further said the JI was also preparing a youth policy to unite the country’s young men at a platform for the solution of their problems. He said that young men carrying degrees in their hands were running from one end to the other in search of jobs but in vain while the rulers were simply struggling to prolong their rule.

In reply to a question, the JI chief said that the delay in the setting up of a judicial commission to probe into ringing would only harm the government. He said if the government was not serious, the others would be compelled to adopt the path of protest.

On the Balochistan situation, he said that talks were going on with the national leaders for the restoration of peace in the province. “We have decided to take a delegation of national leaders to the estranged Baloch leaders hiding in mountains and caves, during the month of February, and request them to join the national mainstream”, he said.
