A delegation of PML(N) Sindh meets Shahbaz Sharif

CM PUNJAB Lahore: A delegation led by President Pakistan Muslim League (N), Sindh, Ismail Rahu met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here today and discussed matters of mutual interest, party affairs and overall situation of the country.

Talking to the PML(N) Sindh delegation, the Chief Minister said that government is taking effective measures with mutual consultation for overcoming terrorism, energy crisis and other issues being faced by the country. He said that elimination of terrorism and energy crisis is essential for national progress and prosperity. He said that the whole nation has united in the war against terrorism and every citizen of the country wants eradication of terrorism and extremism.

Shahbaz Sharif said that every member of the society will have to play his due role for coping with the menace of terrorism and all out efforts will be made to rid the country of this scourge. He said that Punjab government has constituted anti-terrorism force and it is being imparted modern training at par with the national standards. He said that terrorists have caused an irreparable loss to the country and even innocent children have been subjected to the worst brutality. He said that the elements which have martyred innocent children will soon meet their logical end and Pakistan will be made a haven of peace and put on the road to progress and prosperity.

Referring to the energy crisis, the Chief Minister said that comprehensive planning has been made for coping with the shortage of electricity and work is being carried out speedily on hydle, solar and other projects of power generation. He said that Punjab government is setting up a 100 megawatts solar project in Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur with its own resources and it is in the final stages of completion.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the several programmes are being implemented in the province successfully for the empowerment of youth and provision of basic amenities to the citizens. He said that government has also initiated Apna Rozgar Scheme with a huge sum of Rs. 31 billion for providing vehicles on easy installments to the unemployed youth so that they could earn their livelihood in a respectable manner. He said that 50 thousand families will benefit from this scheme. He said that about 1.75 lakh people are travelling by metro buses in Lahore daily and more than 10 crore citizens have benefited from this service so far.

The Chief Minister said that government is also paying special attention to the welfare of minorities and they have complete religious freedom in Punjab while solid measures have been taken for the protection and upkeep of their places of worship and of religious significance. He said that PML(N) government will continue to take steps for provision of relief to the masses. The delegation also included Senior Vice President PML(N) Sindh Shah Muhammad Shah, Media Coordinator Khalid Hussain Sheikh, President Minorities Wing, PML(N) Sindh Dr. Sham Sundar and Member Mahesh Kumar.
