Islamabad: A 20-member delegation of women entrepreneurs from Islamabad left for India through the Wagah border on a fifteen-day visit for a dialogue with their counterparts on issues including bilateral trade, non-tariff barriers and visa policy.
The delegation under the leadership of Samina Fazil, founder president Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) and Naima Ansari, former VP FPCCI will also explore business opportunities.
Apart from series of meetings, the delegation is also scheduled to participate in expos and conferences at New Delhi, Agra, Ajmer and Jaipur and meet the top Indian trade officials
Before leaving, Samina Fazil expressed hope that progress would be achieved during the visit. She said that efforts are being made for the growth and promotion of trade and economic activities and the establishment of cordial relations between the two countries.
She hoped that meetings with the officials of International Federation of Women Entrepreneurs, PHD Chamber of Commerce and industry and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry will be fruitful.
Samina Fazil said that women entrepreneurs will have exposure and capacity building opportunities and they will be able to bridge gap among business women of India and other countries. They will find a good international platform to promote their business through women to women networking, she added.
We will also inform Indian business women about sentiments of Pakistani business community regarding the MFN status to India. “We would be representing good image of Pakistan,” she said.
Apart from trade, our business leaders want that the two countries should also focus cooperation in the fields of education and health, she said adding that two countries can only prosper in presence of cordial atmosphere.
The delegation includes former president IWCCI Alia Akram, Rizwana Asif, Azra Sarfaraz, Nosheen Nadeem Khan, Sabeen Imran, Anila Sheikh, Hajra Hafeez, Neelum Khalid, Azeema Ijaz, Shakila Rizvi, Ms. Sadaqat Shaheen, Ms. Nosheen Nadeem Khan and others.
