The fifth Annual Status of Education Report 2014 will be issued tomorrow in Islamabad

Idara-e-Taleem-o-AagahiLahore: The fifth Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2014 is being launched in Islamabad on Thursday (today) that has been based on the information of 279,427 children of 3-16 years of age on 13 different aspects including access to schools, learning levels and multi-grade teaching across the country.
The survey has been conducted by some 10,000 volunteer citizens managed by Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) along with many key civil society /semi autonomous organizations including the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), Democratic Commission for Human Development (DCHD), HANDS and NRSP.
The ASER survey has been conducted on children across Pakistan in 144 rural and 21 urban districts. The 5-16 years age group children have been tested at 93,096 households in 4,698 villages for English, Language (Urdu/Sindhi/Pashto), and Arithmetic competencies.
The report aims to inform the progress or lack thereof with respect to Article 25-A of the constitution making education a fundamental right for 5-16 year old children since 2010.
The ASER report is scheduled to be released by Dr Ahsan Iqbal, Mian Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman, Aitzaz Ahsan, Mir Hasil Khan Bizinjo, secretary education of all provinces along with representatives from media and other civil society organizations.
