Shahbaz sharif gives farewell party to chief secretary Punjab on his retirement

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that there is a need to adopt the principle of hard work, honesty and commitment to resolve the problems being faced by Pakistan and it is time for practical steps and not mere speeches. He expressed the hope that the New Year will bring message of peace, progress and prosperity of the country. He said that Chief Secretary Punjab Naveed Akram Cheema has run the government affairs in a transparent and efficient manner and proved his administrative abilities.

He was addressing a farewell function arranged by him in honour of Chief Secretary Punjab Naveed Akram Cheema, here today. Speaker and Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly, Provincial Ministers, Assembly Members, Provincial Secretaries and senior government officials were present on the occasion. Appreciating the service and performance of Chief Secretary Punjab Naveed Akram Cheema, Shahbaz Sharif said that he is concluding his glorious career on the last day of 2014. He said that the function has been arranged to honour the Chief Secretary Punjab Naveed Akram Cheema who implemented government policies in an efficient and effective manner. He lauded that the performance of Chief Secretary Punjab Naveed Akram Cheema towards supremacy of merit, promotion of transparency, monitoring of development activities, improvement of law and order and other sectors. He said that besides having administrative abilities, Naveed Akram Cheema also had the ability to promote a team spirit and he stood steadfast even in the most difficult circumstances. The Chief Minister expressed best wishes for Naveed Akram Cheema.

Chief Secretary Punjab Naveed Akram Cheema while speaking on the occasion, said that he tried his best to come up to the expectations of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and took all possible measures to realize the dream of Chief Minister to make Punjab a peaceful and developed province. He said that Chief Minister’s dynamic leadership had always been the source of his guidance. He said that he always followed the policies of provision of relief to the common man, promotion of good governance and public welfare. Government personalities present on the occasion paid glowing tributes to the personality, efficiency and services of Naveed Akram Cheema.
