Lahore: Provincial Minister for Zakat and Ushr Malik Nadeem Kamran has directed Commissioners to resolve problems of tenants of military farms on priority basis and submit a detailed report within a week. He said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is taking special interest for resolving this issue on permanent basis. He warned that indiscriminate action will be taken against the officers not submitting survey report in stipulated period and creating hurdles in resolution of problems.
He expressed these views while presiding over a special meeting convened for resolution of problems of tenants of various farms of the province at committee room of Board of Revenue here today. Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf, Member Colonies, Commissioners of Sahiwal and Multan Divisions, DPOs of Sahiwal, Multan and Okara as well as concerned officers attended the meeting.
Malik Nadeem Kamran directed Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf that he should write a letter immediately to the Commissioners for detailed survey reports so that a coordinated strategy could be evolved in the light of the reports. He said that government will not deprive of genuine tenants of land to their right at any cost. The Provincial Minister said that besides Commissioners, letters should also be written to senior officers of Pak Army, Seed Corporation, Agriculture and Livestock Department for obtaining their point of view regarding these farms. He also issued orders of appointing Secretary Colonies as focal person for maintaining close liaison with these departments and institutions. Malik Nadeem Kamran said that after collecting data and obtaining point of view of all concerned departments, the problems of tenants should be resolved on permanent basis.
