Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the worst and most tragic incident of the terrorism in Army Public School Peshawar has shocked the whole country as the brutal elements had attacked the future of the nation. He said that due to sacrifices of the martyred children, the whole nation has become united and determined to eliminate terrorism. He said that war against terrorism will be won with the force of unity and Pakistan will be rid of terrorists on permanent basis. He said that the country will be purged of savages and the scourge of terrorism will be rooted out forever.
He was talking to students of Army Public School Peshawar, Arbab Karim, Arbab Zalnat and their father who met him, here today. The students informed the Chief Minister about the details of the tragic incident. Former students of Army Public School Peshawar Arbab Hamza, Khushal Khan Khatak and their uncle Zafar Durrani also accompanied them while Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan and Secretary Schools Abdul Jabbar Shaheen were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that terrorism has caused a huge loss to the country and besides officers and jawans of Pak Army, their children are also rendering sacrifices in the war against terrorism and thousands of Pakistanis have embraced martyrdom. He said that the whole nation has united in the war against terrorism and terrorists will be defeated with the force of unity. He said that sacrifices of the students of Army Public School Peshawar will not go waste. He said that children are a precious asset and the whole nation is proud of their courage and bravery. He expressed the resolve that Pakistan will be purged of terrorism.
The Chief Minister said that after the brutal act of terrorism, he personally went to Peshawar and inquired after the injured children in CMH. He said that the morale of the injured children was high and the nation is proud of their courage. He said that Peshawar incident was a big tragedy and has aggrieved the entire nation.
The Chief Minister directed Provincial Minister Education and Secretary Education to complete security arrangements in public and private education institutions of the province as soon as possible and personally visit schools for this purpose.
Secretary Schools informed that security arrangements will be finalized before the reopening of schools and work is being carried out expeditiously in this regard. He said that the walls of schools are being raised and the process of provision of metal detectors in schools is also continuing speedily.
