Journalist panel sweeps Lahore Press Club Elections 2015

Lahore: “The Journalist Panel” swept the Lahore Press Club elections for year 2015 by winning 10 seats out of thirteen. According to the official results announced by Election Commission, Arshad Ansari elected the president by bagging 989 votes. The loosing candidate of Progressive panel, Najam Wali Khan was polled 473 votes. Afzaal Talib elected secretary by getting 821 votes whereas Zahid Abid could get 617 votes.  Nadeem Basra won the vice president seat by getting 775 votes while the contender from progressive panel Zulfiqar Ch was polled 646 votes. Shadab Riaz became treasurer by getting 971 votes. Amjad Usmani the contender from progressive panel got 466 votes. Saima Ch who grabbed the seat of Joint Secretary won the trust of 753 voters. Nasira Atique get 678 votes.

According to final official results the Journalist Panel’ candidates Marwa ansr, Qamar Zaman Bhatti, Afzaal Ch , Ambrin Fatima, Rizwan Khalid,Imran Sheikh,Furqan elahi and Shoaib Aziz elected members the governing body for year 2015. It may be relevant to mention that 1484 voters exercized their right to vote.
