No child died due to negligence or shortage of staff in DHQ Hospital Sargodha

7 infants die in Sargodha DHQ HospitalLahore: Spokesman of Health Department Punjab has said that no child died due to negligence or shortage of staff, medicine and oxygen in District Headquarters Hospital Sargodha.

He said that the authorities are strictly monitoring the performance of the hospital whereas DCO daily visits District Headquarters Hospital Sargodha for checking of staff and medicines and reviews its performance.

The spokesman while clarifying said that 114 babies were brought in the nursery of the hospital in a serious condition during one month, out of which, lives of 91 babies were saved due to best efforts of doctors. Moreover, a team of experts from teaching hospitals of Lahore visits DHQ Hospital Sargodha twice a week and also reviews the facilities, he added.

The spokesman told that taking notice of the news in this regard, on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Director General Health Dr. Zahid Pervaiz has also left for Sargodha and after further reviewing the situation will immediately submit his report and in the light of his report, further steps will be taken for improvement.
