Lahore: Parliamentary Secretary on Transport, Ch. Muhammad Nawaz Chauhan has directed senior officials of Metro Bus Authority to pay attention to cleanliness at metro stations and buses and further improvement.
He stated this during inspection of metro bus corridor, here today. Additional Secretary Transport Babar Shafi, General Manager Operations Muhammad Aziz Shah and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
Parliamentary Secretary travelled from Ittefaq station to Civil Secretariat and asked from passengers about travelling facility. Ch. Muhammad Nawaz Chauhan directed the senior officials to submit details of the companies attached to metro bus and fine imposed to the firms so far under different heads. He also checked tuck shops set up at metro stations and inspected the expiry dates of edible items. He emphasized upon metro bus authorities to check food items at tuck shops on daily basis. He also checked fire extinguishers at the metro stations.
GM Operations Muhammad Aziz Shah while giving briefing to the Parliamentary Secretary told that 155000 passengers travel by metro bus daily and in case of rush this number reaches upto 160000. Ch. Muhammad Nawaz Chauhan when inquired from the passengers about metro bus, they expressed satisfaction over this transport facility and paid tributes to Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
