Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that all political parties had given a clear mandate to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for dealing with the terrorists and with that, the trial of the government had started. He was talking to the media after meetings with the families of the Principal and students of Army Public School, Peshawar martyred in the terrorist attack last week.
Sirajul Haq paid homage to the School Principal Tahira Qazi, who sacrificed her life while trying to protect several students. He demanded that the Army Public School be upgraded as University and named after Tahira Qazi in reconition of her unmatched valour and sacrifice. He appreciated the Khyber P. government decision to name the institution after the martyred students and said this would keep the sacrifice of the students live forever.
The JI chief said that the Peshawar city had offered huge sacrifices for decades but the morale of its citizens was still high. Therefore, he said, the federal government should grant the title of the most courageous city to Peshawar in recognition of its services.
Sirajul Haq impressed upon the government to devise a governmental system for the tribal areas in consultation with the tribal leaders so that the area did not remain without a constitution.
He also called for chalking out an emergency plan for the IDPs and said that practical steps be taken for their return to their homes with honour, and suitable jobs be created for them.
The JI chief said that the root cause of all the problems facing the country and the nation was the deviation from the Pakistan ideology. He said that the Ulema and religious scholars all over the country had condemned the Peshawar terrorist attack causing the massacred of innocent student. He said it was high time that the mosque and the pulpit adopted a sound s tragedy to wipe out terrorism. However, he said, that it was the agenda of the western countries and colonial powers to link terrorism with Islam and the Muslims.
Sirajul Haq said that the tribal area had been badly neglected by all governments and no funds were allocated for their uplift. He said that as Peshawar was close to the tribal areas, it was affected by the conditions in the tribal areas. He urged the government to allocate sufficient funds for the development of tribal areas so that poverty was wiped out and jobs were created for the tribal youth.
