Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that steps regarding foolproof security in public and private educational institutions should be completed at the earliest. He said that security plan evolved for schools, colleges and universities should be implemented at any cost.
While presiding over a high level meeting,CM Punjab gave approval to security plan for educational institutions in public and private educational institutions of the province.
Provincial Minister for Home Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada, Member National Assembly Hamza Shahbaz, Members Provincial Assembly Rana Sanaullah, Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Special Assistant Azm-ul-Haq, Rana Maqbool, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police and secretaries of Schools Education, Higher Education, Finance, Auqaf, Law and Information departments and concerned officers were present on the occasion.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister directed that checking and effective monitoring of security plan should be conducted. He said that the work of raising the boundary walls of educational institutions and installation of CCTV cameras there should be completed at the earliest. Punjab Information Technology Board along with concerned departments should make comprehensive planning regarding installation of CCTV cameras, he added.
He said that extraordinary steps have to be taken in extraordinary situation. He said that cabinet committee on law and order is empowered to decide security measures and other important matters in educational institutions.
