Pakistan women kabaddi team captain Madiha Lateef flays Indian tactics

Madeeha Latif Skipper Kabaddi Team Neelam Riaz Kabaddi playerLahore: Pakistan women kabaddi team could have earned a berth in the title clash in the just-concluded Kabaddi World Cup, but due to unfavourable schedule and India’s negative tactics, our team had to content with the bronze medal in the grand event, these views were expressed Pakistan women captain Madiha Lateef and senior player Neelum Riaz while talking to media at National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.

Madiha said overall Pakistan girls displayed reasonable game in the tournament. “Our team defeated strong England by 39-37 in a nail-biting contest and booked a berth in the semifinals. Our team have to play three back-to-back matches and this factor was one of the reasons if our girls could not perform well against New Zealand in our third match of the tourney,” she continued.

Madiha said that her team could have emerged as winners in the third match against New Zealand but the tiredness of three consecutive matches played major role in their ordinary performance. “Our team should have given adequate break between the matches but the tournament management deliberately kept our girl busy just to disturb their rhythm and performance,” she lamented.

Neelum said that overall Pakistan women team displayed good game in the mega event. “We have observed the performance of all the teams minutely during the World Cup and insha-Allah we will prepare our team in a better way for the next World Cup event,” she predicted.
