LHC Rawalpindi bench stops execution of five prisoners

Lahore: The Lahore High Court s Rawalpindi bench has given stay on the execution of five prisoners, who were sentenced the death penalty by a military court.

Justice Arshad Mahmood Tabassum heard the petition filed by relatives of the prisoners including Ahsan Azeem, Omer Nadeem, Asif Idrees, Kamran Aslam and Amir Yousaf.

The petitioners stated that the prisoners were not given right to file appeal against the decision of their execution.

Meanwhile, the court suspended the execution of five prisoners and directed the respondents to submit reply within two weeks.
