Lahore: In order to pay tributes to a martyr of Peshawar tragedy Muhammad Tahir, resident of Kot Abdo, a village of Bucheki, District government arranged a function at gymnasium hall of Nankana Sahib in which a cheque for financial assistance of Rs. 16 lakh, shield and a condolence letter were presented to the heirs of the martyr on behalf of Punjab government.
Federal Minister on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Ch. Barjees Tahir, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Rana Muhammad Arshad, Commissioner Lahore Division Rashid Mehmood Langrial, elected representatives, district officers, civil and military officials and a large number of notables were present on the occasion. Condolences were expressed with the family of Shaheed Muhammad Tahir on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. It was announced that district government will pave the road leading to the village of Tahir Shaheed at a cost of Rs. 15 million. Similarly, it was also announced to name Government Elementary School Kot Abdo after Shaheed Muhammad Tahir while Manawala railway crossing as Tahir Shaheed Chowk besides issuance of Tahir Shaheed scholarship.
Addressing on the occasion, Ch. Barjees Tahir said that we will have to identify hidden enemies in our ranks. He said that the entire nation salutes Pak-Army. Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Rana Arshad said that Tahir is living and not dead as he is a shaheed and he is son of Pakistan and the entire nation is grieved over Peshawar incident. Commissioner Lahore Rashid Mehmood Langrial said that Pakistani nation is proud of its sons like Tahir Shaheed and said that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, district government of Nankana Sahib will ensure practical implementation of the decisions made in this regard.
