Ch Parvez Elahi visits CMH to inquire about health of the injured students

Peshawar: Pakistan Muslim League -Q senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that the innocents martyred in Army Public School Peshawar were future and hope of Pakistan, if Parliamentary Committee decisions were not implemented then the nation will make the decision-makers accountable, they would be on one side and the entire nation on the other side, instead of indulging in blame game we should learn lesson from past mistakes, delay or negligence in the implementation of decisions against terrorism like in the past, present national unity was commendable and it should be maintained, children injured in this national tragedy were in high spirits like the Pak Army and people of the four provinces.

He said this while talking to media at the Press Club after visiting the injured in the CMH and Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar today along with Muslim League leaders.

He also met Chief Minister Khyber Pukhtoonkhwah Parvez Khattak and assured him full cooperation on behalf of his party. On this occasion, “fateha Khawani” was offered for the martyred students and other persons and “dua” for early recovery of the injured. He was accompanied by MNA Tariq Bashir Cheema, party’s Provincial President Intekhab Khan Chamakni, Central Vice-President Ajmal Wazir, Muhammad Basharat Raja, Mian Imran Masood and other leaders.

During Ch Parvez Elahi’s visit to CMH to inquire about welfare and health of the injured students, very emotional scenes were witnessed. Children under treatment there recognized Ch Parvez Elahi and heartily welcomed him with smiles and waving hands despite their injuries and those who could speak also thanked him while an 8th class student asked him to sit near him and talked for some time by warmly holding his hand. On this, tears trickled down in the eyes of many present including Ch Parvez Elahi.

Ch Parvez Elahi further said in the press conference that he had always visited Peshawar with love and affection but this time his heart and mind were heavily burdened and serious, Ch Shujat Hussain was out of the country for medical checkup otherwise he would also have been present here, our hearts were shedding tears of blood on seeing the sorrows of the bereaved families of the Shuhda and the injured children, victim of worst barbarism and brutality were our children, heart of every Pakistani was grieved as if these were his children.

Continuing Ch Parvez Elahi said that like Pakistan Muslim League, the entire nation and minorities had expressed complete solidarity over this tragedy and condemned it in the strongest possible words, our party immediately suspended all its political activities, public meeting scheduled to be held in Chunian Stadium on December 21 was postponed till December 30, condolence meetings were held in Muslim League House in Lahore and other cities for the martyred students and other persons and “Quran khawani” offered for the departed souls, participated in the conference convened regarding this tragedy despite all the differences with the govt and nominated Mushahid Hussain Sayed for the Action Plan Committee.

He said that regarding bloodshed of the innocent students and teachers maximum responsibility devolved on the rulers, all provinces should be provided more and more resources by giving priority to security and law and order problem to ensure that such tragedy did not re-occur otherwise future generations will not forgive us. He said that nothing remained impossible if the nation unitedly determined its objectives, history was witness that despite short period of power our party had taken many revolutionary measures for establishing an Islamic welfare society in the Punjab but no excess or injustice was done with anyone and rather took historical steps for redressal of sorrows of the people, end of oppression and provision of justice to the people.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that today we have to think about those mothers, sisters and brothers whose eyes would be looking for their children and dear ones who would never meet them again. He said that we have to end terrorism and oppression from Pakistan and instead promote love and brotherhood so that an Islamic welfare society was established, bloodshed of the innocents was no service to Islam or the society. Earlier, he offered Juma prayers in the Jamia Masjid in the Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar.
