NP backs Govt efforts, army operation to eradicate terror: Senator Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo

Lahore: President of the National Party (NP) Senator Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo on Thursday said the successful meeting of the Parliamentary Parties in the aftermath of Peshawar carnage can pave the way for sustainable peace in the country.

Taliban have emerged as a great threat to the society and country therefore they should be dealt with full force otherwise we will have to brave other incidents like Dec 16 which has shaken the entire world.

Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo said this while speaking at a reference in memory of legendary progressive leader Sobho Gianchandani. He said that military action will be useless unless we stop efforts to make Afghanistan our forth province, improve relations with neighbouring countries, abandon idea of strategic depth, ensure equality and alter our foreign and internal policies.

The state cannot be defended by the help of Lashkars, he said adding that despite heavy losses we have yet to agree on definition of terrorism and many elements among us including politicians support the terror groups.

The Senator said that Taliban have accepted responsibility for killing our future but many are still reluctant to condemn it which shows division in our ranks. Our enemies are united with full clarity of mind while a good number of people among us are still confused, he remarked. He informed that there is a period about struggle and victories of Taliban in almost every seminary in Balochistan which is a great threat.

He paid glowing tribute to Gianchandani who was an acclaimed revolutionary leftist leader, writer, intellectual and a philosopher called the ‘Man of, known for his outspoken views about Sindh and its people.

Comrade Gianchandani, believed in the constant struggle for justice so were Mir Ghous Bux Bijenjo, Ghaffar Khan and GM Syed whose philosophy was intentionally strangulated which resulted in extremism, he said. Others who spoke on the occasion included SVP NP Tahir Bizenjo, SG Dr. Yasin, NP Punjab President Ayub Malik, Naseer Memon, Adam Malik, and Dr. Nasir Mehmood who said that province of Sindh is relatively calm which is result of teachings of Sheikh Ayaz, Usman Deeplai and Ibrahim Joyo. They said that American and some other countries have promoted extremism in Pakistan to get their own objectives. Some of our policymakers also started following their ideology without considering the consequences which has put the integrity of country at stake. They said that Pakistan can only survive if society is educated against terrorism to become as peaceful as it was some decades back.
