Christian community postponed Christmas celebrations to express solidarity with the nation

Minister Human RaightsLahore: Federal Minister for Ports & Shipping, Senator Kamran Michael and Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights, Khalil Tahir Sindhu have said that as Pakistani they strongly condemn the incident of terrorism in Peshawar and express solidarity with the whole nation in the war against terrorism.

Addressing a crowded press conference at the office of Human Rights and Minority Affairs Department Punjab, Senator Kamran Michael and Provincial Minister Khalil Tahir Sindhu said that they were deeply grieved over the martyrdom of innocent children and other persons in the Peshawar tragedy and as patriotic Pakistani will never forgive those who committed the worst form of brutality. They said that there is a need for collective efforts to eliminate terrorism and transform Pakistan into a welfare state in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam so that the future generations could live peacefully. They said that there is a heavy responsibility on all Pakistanis to maintain unity in their ranks and point out the miscreants so that they could be taken to task.  They said that as Pakistani, they are ready to sacrifice even their lives for the country. They said that terrorists have no religion and no conscious person can support them.

Senator Kamran Michael and Khalil Tahir Sindhu said that all minorities of the country strongly condemn terrorism and Christmas celebrations are being postponed to express solidarity with the nation. They said that special prayers are arranged at all churches and temples in the country. They said that Christmas will be celebrated with austerity on December 25 to give a message of love and unity with the Pakistani nation. They said that no religion can permit terrorism against humanity and teachings of the Holy Prophets are a beacon of light in this regard. They said that Pakistani nation is united and Pakistan will live forever.

Minority MPA Shakeel Ivan, Tariq Masih Gil, Mary Gil besides Sardar Akash Singh, Dr. Manohar Chand, Prof. Atiq, Shabnam Nagi, Mehnaz, Syed Nowbahar Shah and Ulema were also present on the occasion. Special prayers were also offered for the martyrs of Peshawar tragedy as well as solidarity of the country.
