President Mamnoon Hussain to launch book of Chinese President on Friday

xi jinping_booktitleIslamabad : The Pakistan-China Institute, in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, will hold the Launching Ceremony of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s book, under the title of “The Governance of China” on Friday (December 19), in Islamabad, at the Pak-China Friendship Center. The President of Pakistan, His Excellency Mamnoon Hussain will grace the ceremony as Chief Guest, said a press statement issued on Wednesday.

The event will be chaired by Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chairman of the Pakistan-China Institute, and will be attended by senior dignitaries from the governments of both countries as well as the intelligentsia. The Guest of Honour will be Vice Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Mr. Chen Fengxiang.

“In the book, which is being launched for the first time in Pakistan, Chinese President Xi Jinping, puts forward new thoughts, ideas and assessments, in response to major theoretical and practical issues on the development of the Party and the country in the contemporary era.” Senator Mushahid said. These theories have showcased the central leadership’s ideas and strategies in governing the country, he added.

The Chairman hoped that the book will help its readership to understand the Chinese Government under the dynamic leadership of Xi Jinping in governing the country, as well as China’s ideologies, pattern of development, policies and diplomacy.

The book has been compiled jointly by the State Council Information Office, the Party Literature Research Office of Central Committee and China International Publishing Group and is available in multiple languages, including Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Japanese. It is divided into 18 categories, containing 79 speeches, informal talks, addresses, answers to questions from the press, approvals and congratulatory letters by and from Xi Jinping, made between November 15, 2012 and June 13, 2014. The book offers notes to help international readers understand China’s social institutions, history and culture. There are also 45 photos of Xi taken in different eras, to give readers a better sense of his work and life.

The Ceremony will be preceded by a policy briefing on “The Rule of Law Made by the 4th Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC)”.
