Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has strongly condemned the terrorist attack at a Peshawar school on Tuesday resulting in more than 120 deaths. He said this was a big tragedy for the Pakistani nation as the martyred students were the children of 180 million Pakistanis and not of a few families.
While talking to media, he said those targeting children were not human beings, let alone the Muslims, and added that the tragedy on the 16th of December had plunged the nation into deep grief and anguish once again.
Sirajul Haq said that the elements perpetrating the tragedy should keep in mind that on the Day of
Judgment, these innocent children would invoke Allah Almighty’s justice and ask for what crime they had been slain, adding that this would further add to the divine wrath.
The JI chief said that the whole nation stood with the bereaved families and fully shared their grief. He impressed upon the Khyber P. government to extend every possible help and medical assistance to the students and teachers injured in the attack.
However, he said the terrorist attack had proved once again that the federal and the provincial governments, the law enforcement bodies and the security agencies had totally failed as against the terrorists.
The JI chief said this was not the time to think of political gains or blame game. We should stop hurling accusations on others and, instead forge unity in our ranks to face the enemy, he added. He expressed condolences to the bereaved families over the martyrdom of their wards and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
Later, the JI chief visited the houses of some students martyred in the attack and expressed deep sympathies with them. He also visited different hospitals and enquired after the health of the injured lying there. On the occasion, he appreciated the services of different welfare bodies including the Al-Khidmat Foundation, for the injured.
