ORU executive committee meets VC GCU

Lahore: The newly-elected executive committee of Old Ravians Union (ORU) led by President Kamran Lashari Monday met with Government College University, Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman at the university’s syndicate committee room. ORU Honorary Secretary Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt and Secretary General Mian Muhammad Cachchar were also present.

Talking to Old Ravians, Vice Chancellor urged them to play a more active role in the development of their alma mater and raising scholarships for the financially-challenged students of the university. He also told the ORU Executive Committee about the restoration work on the historical tower building and other development of GCU.

The committee also inspected the restoration work and paid glowing tributes to the efforts of university’s administration for preserving this great historical building for the future generations.

Speaking on the occasion, ORU President Kamran Lashari expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for his extraordinary support to the union. He also said that Old Ravians across the world would be mobilized to raise funds for the university’s deserving students.  He said that thousands of eminent Old Ravians from all over world had attended the ORU week-long celebrations in connection with the GCU 150 years celebrations which was an indication of their love with their alma mater.
