Vice President of Shandong Ruyi Group calls on CM Punjab

Lahore: Vice President of Shandong Ruyi Group of China, associated with energy sector, Jerry Liu met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today. Progress on the project of setting up two coal power plants of 660 megawatts in Sahiwal was discussed in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that measures are being taken expeditiously for coping with the energy crisis. He said that work is being carried out on coal-based power projects in Sahiwal with the cooperation of China. He said that all out facilities are being provided to local and foreign investors for eliminating loadshedding from the country while a conducive atmosphere has been provided for investment in Punjab. He said that several Chinese companies are making investment in energy, infrastructure and other projects.

The Chief Minister said that government is paying special attention to generation of low-cost energy and coal-based power projects are an important step in this direction. Vice Chairman Shandong Ruyi Group, Jerry Liu said that he is deeply impressed with the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s hard work, determination and commitment. He said that every effort will be made for execution of the project of coal-based power plants in accordance with the vision of the Chief Minister.

Deputy Chairperson Ruyi Group Ms Arie Quiu, Additional Chief Secretary Energy, Chairman Punjab Investment Board and concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
