Lahore: Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that all government departments including police, Cantonment Boards and Federal Capital should make their plans to combat dengue in the next dengue season.
He expressed these views while presiding over an anti-dengue review meeting at Rawalpindi today Saturday. The meeting was attended by ADCG Talat Gondal, Member National Assembly Malik Ibrar Ahmed, Malik Iftikhar, Raja Muhammad Hanif MPAs, Dr. Jamal Nasir, Raja Ateeque Sarwar, Mirza Mansoor Baig, Haji Pervaiz Khan, Shaukat Janjua, Raja Zafar Iqbal, officers of government departments and representatives of other related organizations.
EDO, Health Dr. Khalid Randhawa gave a presentation about the up to date situation of dengue control activities. The Minister asked heads of government departments to give their input for evolving a comprehensive plan of action to tackle dengue in coming season. He said that the concerned departments should learn a lesson from the previous experiences and technical opinion of experts should be kept in mind for formulating future strategies and micro plan to avert dengue.
It was decided in the meeting that all related departments would give presentations about the scope of work regarding dengue in next meeting so that effective measures could be adapted to overcoming dengue in next season.
The Minister also inquired about the current data of patients and details of treatment facilities. It was informed that currently there is no confirm dengue patients in the hospitals however clinical tests of blood samples of all suspects were being examined regularly to segregate dengue patients.
