Opposition to Kalabagh dam is an imperial conspiracy :PML-Q lawyers convention

Lahore: Lawyers Convention held under auspices of the Pakistan Muslim League -Q Punjab Lawyers Wing has termed opposition to Kalabagh dam as an imperial conspiracy and demanded its immediate construction and strongly condemning lathi-charge on the blinds and said that this incident of torture and oppression had also occurred on direct orders of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and called for immediate notice by the Supreme Court.

In the resolutions unanimously adopted by the Lawyers Convention held under the chairmanship of Provincial Chief of Lawyers Wing Alamgir advocate at the Muslim League House here, it was stated that Nawaz Sharif govt was intentionally delaying Kalabagh dam hypocritically and using this as a political tactic, construction of Kalabagh dam was highly essential to overcome shortage of electricity and water and to save the future generations from this crisis, all provinces would have to play positive role for completion of this project keeping in view the national interest instead of personal ego, opponents of this dam were responsible for present energy crisis.

It was stated further that if this project was not completed at the earliest then in future the country could face still grave crisis then the present one resulting in famine from whose effects no province would be safe and the nation and history would never forgive those responsible for such crisis, this greatest conspiracy to destroy Pakistan was being hatched at the instance of imperial forces so that the country remained at the mercy of others in the sectors of economics, agriculture, industry and energy and could not become self-reliant in the field of energy.

The resolution went on to say that till such time that even one worker of PML was alive he would continue to firmly stand against this imperialistic conspiracy and not allow this devilish conspiracy of the present rulers to succeed, PML will not spare making any great sacrifice for ensuring completion of this project and pulling the country and the nation out of darkness.

Second resolution said that whenever Nawaz Sharif govt was imposed on the country, people and the govt employees were subjected to hell-like treatment, lathi charge and ruthless torture on the peaceful protest by the blind persons had exposed the so-called love for democracy and good governance, if such an incident had happened in any civilized country then the prime minister and the chief minister would have immediately resigned, lawyers demanded of the High Court and the Supreme Court to take strict notice of this incident because the Chief Minister Punjab was directly involved in this incident and oppression was let loose on his orders, height of the oppression was that the present govt was also snatching the right to speak from the persons who were already blind, this had not happened in Pakistan even during martial law regime, PML will not allow the rulers to repeat such incidents.

Those who addressed and presented resolutions in the convention included Jahangir Akhtar Jhojha, Ch Abdul Razzaq Kamboh, Muhammad Younis Abid, Khan Kamal Barakullah, Muhammad Siddiq Khan Baloch, Mohammad Usman Khan Baloch, Muhammad Imran Khan Baloch, Bilal Farooq Khan, Ch Bashir Ahmad, Abdul Sami Qureshi, Ch Masood Bhingu, Malik Umar Jan, Naveed Ahmad Malik, Zahid Khokhar, Zahid Omar, Malik Mohammad Saim, Mohammad Imran Idrees, Raafey Ahmad Khan, Malik Israr Elahi, Mian Muhammad Rashid, Mohammad Iqbal, Mohammad Ilyas Jhummat and Zahoor Agha among others.
