Government believes in agri-friendly policies :Malik Nadeem Kamran

Minister Zakat Malik Nadeem KamranLahore: Provincial Minister for Zakat & Ushr, Malik Nadeem Kamran has said that government believes in agri-friendly policies and wants to resolve problems being faced by the cultivators of the province. He said that a sub-committee headed by Member Colonies has been constituted which will submit its detailed report regarding number of tenants of 30 farms, nature of cultivated crops and land within a week. Commissioners of Sahiwal and Multan will be members of the committee, he added.

He said this while talking to a delegation of tenants of different farms of the province at Committee Room of Board of Revenue here today. Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf, Member Colonies, Commissioners of Sahiwal and Multan, Regional Police Officer Sahiwal and DPO Okara besides concerned officers were also present on the occasion.

Provincial Minister said that the government will evolve a coordinated strategy in the light of the committee headed by Member Colonies to know the present situation about the land occupied by tenants as per record of the Revenue Department. He said that matters regarding allotment of alternate land for cultivation in the province will also be discussed.

Malik Nadeem Kamran assured sympathetic consideration to the representative delegation of tenants on the demands of right of ownership, withdrawal of cases and not receiving dues. He said that all matters will be considered after report of the sub-committee and practicable solution will be found.  However, no illegal demand will be accepted, he added. The meeting decided that meetings of those concerned departments will be convened on the land of which research farms, seed farms and agriculture farms or livestock farms have been set up. The Minister said that government will not deprive of any deserving person of his right.  He said that government neither wants to remove any tenant nor commit any injustice.
