Lahore: Traders’ organizations of provincial metropolis have rejected PTI call to close Lahore on December 15 and said that Imran Khan should not cause loss to traders in the lust of power and should not deprive the labourers of their livelihood. Imran Khan is following those foreign forces which want to stop the process of investment and development in Pakistan. Head of Tehrik-e-Insaf should not make investors leave by doing the politics of chaos. If Imran Khan tried to close shops and markets forcibly then traders’ community will take all steps for their security.
These views were expressed by office bearers of different markets of Lahore during a press conference at Lahore Press Club today. President Mall Road Sohail Mahmood Butt, Chairman Liberty Market Mian Zahid Javed, President Liberty Jewelers Market Rizwan Shamsi, President Montgomery Market Ansar Zahoor Butt, head of Anjuman-e-Tajran Ferozepur Road Lahore Ch. Mehboob Sirki, President Liberty Market Sohail Sarfraz Manj, President Pakistan Cloth Market Hamyoon Mir, General Secretary Auto Market Badami Bagh Eng. Fareed Mughal, General Secretary Township Board Mian Wasim, President Akbari Mandi Mehboob Anwar Bobi, Senior Vice Chairman Township Market Zia Fareed, office-bearer of Anarkali Bazar Naeem Khan, Ijaz Malik of Brandreth Road, President Misri Shah Iron Market, Ch. Amir Siddiqui President Azam Cloth Market Mian Usman and a large number of office-bearers of other markets were present on the occasion.
Traders’ leader Sohail Mahmood Butt said that not only traders of Lahore but of entire Pakistan are united. He said that Imran Khan should refrain from dictating traders. He said that traders reject Plan-C of Imran Khan and no one would be allowed to close markets and roads of the city. He said that traders’ community works hard for the development of economy of the country and earning livelihood for their children. He said that this country is not personal property of Imran Khan that announcement should be made to close it. He said that traders will deploy force for their protection in every chowk and if the workers of PTI misbehaved they will be fully responded. He said that Jehangir Tareen has got waived loans of crores of rupees and has no concern with prosperity of the country.
Traders’ leaders said that due to comprehensive and solid policies of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif not only economy of the country is strengthening but value of rupee has also increased. They said that due to agreements made by Mian Nawaz Sharif with China, foreign investment is coming to Pakistan which will enhance economic activities and job opportunities will be available to the people. They said that after many difficulties, the economic situation of the country is improving and Imran Khan should avoid creating hurdles by giving strike call. They said that not only Lahore but entire country will reject strike call of Imran Khan. They said that traders are united for their right and will not accept dictation.
